Get in Shape for Your Big Day

It’s time to get in shape to fit that dress of your dreams and look fabulous in it. Below are a few exercises you can do for about five week before the wedding to get in shape for your big day.

Side plank

This exercise works out your shoulders, perfect for a lace neckline. Start in a straight-arm side plank, your body forming a line from head to feet. With a weight in your free hand, lift your arm to the ceiling, then lower it to your side. Switch sides and repeat.

Lateral raise

This exercise is great for your shoulders as well, especially if you’re wearing a strapless piece. Start in a standing position, a weight in each hand, palms facing legs. Raise your arms directly out to the sides, then lower them.

Superman

This exercise strengthens your back for a gorgeous open back wedding dress. Lie facedown on the floor, arms extended in front of you. Lift your arms, chest, and legs up two inches. Hold for two seconds, then release.

Biceps Curl

Want to have toned arms on your wedding day? Start by doing this exercise. Stand with a weight in each hand, arms at sides, palms facing forward. Bending your elbows, raise the weights to your shoulders, then lower them.

Twister Crunch

This one works on your waist for those who want to wear a fit and flare dress. Sit on the floor with your knees bent and feet flat. Hold each end of the band out in front of your chest with your arms extended at slightly more than shoulder-width apart. Lean your upper body backward about 45 degrees and lift your legs off the ground until your calves are parallel to the floor. Rotate the upper body to your right, swinging your hands around to follow your body. Your right hand should reach about two inches from the floor. Repeat to the left. Do 10 reps.
