When booking your DFW winter wedding venue remember that the weather this time of year is more unpredictable than usual. It can be hot and sunny in the middle of winter one day and 20º and storming the next. So we highly recommend checking out our tips for preparing for unexpected weather just in case.
Always Have a Plan B
Although everyone will tell you, “it won’t rain,” you should be prepared for the worst case scenario. Secure a tent if needed, ask about a rain plan during your visit and talk with your wedding planner for tips on executing a Plan B and even a Plan C (you can never be to prepared).
Prepare your guests
If you have your heart set on an outdoor wedding, make sure you let your guests know. Remind them to dress appropriately for the weather so they can pack their bags accordingly. But whether they remember or not, never leave your guests out in the cold, ever. Be prepared with blankets, hand warmers, umbrellas, etc. so everyone can enjoy the day comfortably.
Embrace it
You can’t control the weather, only your outlook. Rainy day pictures can be just as sweet if not sweeter than a sunny day. And cold weather makes for romantic cuddles with your partner under a big blanket at your reception. Make the most of your situation with extra-special touches, like bright umbrellas and stylish cover-ups for you and your squad.

(I love this photo so much!) Also, my husband and I got married in Dallas, Texas in the summer of 2015- also known as monsoon season. Right before I walked down the aisle, I am OBLIVIOUS to the weather and I hear thunder. I ask the photographer “What was that?” and she said “oh nothing- don’t worry in the 7 years I’ve shot weddings, it’s never downpoured during the ceremony.”
Walking down the aisle, and made it… then a few drops happen, and then the bottom falls out. We were soaked, finished the ceremony standing, soaked, and laughing under a bigger gazebo. That evening we lost power and ate in the candlelight! It was a memory for everyone- we embraced it and the guests loved it.
