DIY Welcome Bags

March 19, 2018

We have a DIY for you to make your own out-of-town guests welcome bags and shares what to put in them. This shows your guests that you are thinking of them and want them to be comfortable.

1. Choose your tote

Decide on the material of the tote that best suites your theme. It can be a canvas tote, a brown paper bag with a cute hangtag, a jute tote and so on. Check your local hobby and craft store for ideas and materials if you’re not sure what you want – you might find a deal.

2. Create your design

Choose the design you want to have on your bags. It can be a monogram, a phrase that speaks to you as a couple, a photo of the two of your or simply welcome. The possibilities are endless so get creative!

3. Applying the design

Next you need to decide how you’re going to add your design to the tote. There are so many ways to do this. You can screen print, use an iron-on, stamp them, use vinyl, and so on. If you choose iron-on or vinyl be sure to reverse the image so that when it is ironed on it will read correctly.

4. Fill the bags.

Perhaps the most exciting part is filling them up! Think of things your out-of-town guests might need: bottles of water, snacks, hangover helpers (tums, advil, etc.), a map of the area, activities, restaurant recommendations, mints or gum, an itinerary or any shuttle departure times if they will be shuttled to the venue.
