With a beautiful, shiny, new diamond ring comes taking care of it, and you will want to make sure you take care of it properly. By doing so, you will keep it looking new and shiny for years to come rather than faded and dusty. Diamonds catch dust and body oil decently easily, so you’ll want to be on top of keeping it clean regularly.
- Rather than cleaning it at home with random chemicals or what you find on the internet, take it to get cleaned professionally around 4-5 times per year. This will keep all of the diamonds and metals in tip top shape.
- While going to a professional to get it cleaned is important, going to a professional to have it checked twice a year is also important. This will ensure that no diamonds are missing and that everything is how it should be. Rings are not only an expression of your love, but an investment that you want to keep in good shape!
- If you need to resize your ring, try to only get it resized once. Resizing anymore than that could change the integrity of the band and make it not as sturdy to hold the precious gems.
- Lastly, don’t remove it in public! It might be tempting to take it off to wash your hands. This might be especially true if you’re used to doing so regularly at home. Leave it on, though. You would rather wash your hands with it on than it fall down a drain or leaving it!
