The Do’s and Don’ts of a December Wedding

Dallas white barn venue

Dallas White Barn Venue

Winter wedding season is here at our Dallas white barn venue! We wanted to share a few winter wedding do’s and don’ts for your upcoming big day!

Don’t:

  • Don’t let your girls freeze! It is easy to choose a bridesmaid dress that is beautiful without thinking about how the outside temperature will feel in it. Before you go for the strapless dress or the short dress, think about ways that you can make sure your best friends are warm enough! Whether that is getting a long sleeve dress for your bridesmaid dress or having matches shawls. Warmth does not mean a loss of fashion!
  • Don’t feel confined to a winter or holiday theme just because your wedding is in December! While winter themed weddings are gorgeous, and simply bringing in some winter-themed decor is a subtle way to tie it in, don’t feel like you have to! You can easily have a December wedding without having to style it to match the season.

Do:

  • Do experiment with color! Don’t feel confined to reds and greens for your winter wedding. Have a pop of blue or pink or even an unexpected shade of green! Nothing is stopping you from doing unique and beautiful colors just because you wanted a winter wedding.
  • Do dress for the weather. Be ready to wear a coat, shawl, or long sleeve dress on your big day. You can even do a unique jacket, like an embroidered denim jacket with your new last name, the word “Bride,” or anything else! This is especially true if it is far enough into the winter season! Plan accordingly so that you won’t have to throw on a jacket you don’t want to be wearing.
