Tips for Your Venue Tour

Never know what venue tour questions to ask? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with 5 things to inquire about when you visit. These key questions will help you determine whether our venue is right for you.

1. What is the max capacity?

Making sure your headcount fits in your venue is important for both your guests’ comfort and their safety — going over the maximum capacity can be a fire hazard. If you’re having your ceremony or reception inside the barn, ask what the max capacity is to ensure it will fit your desired number of guests.

2. What does your rental include?

When choosing a venue, a couple should be aware of all of the items that come with it. This can include tables, chairs, linens, dishes, etc. Be sure to ask what we provide as part of the rental of our space as this can cut down on costs elsewhere in your budget and is something to consider when deciding if we are the right venue for you.

3. Preferred vendors vs must use vendors.

There are many venues that have a preferred vendors list and there are some venues that require you to use their vendors. So if you had a specific vendor in mind for food and the venue requires you to use their caterer then that will play in to your decision about whether to use that venue or not.

4. How far out should you book in advance?

Depending on the popularity of the venue you may have to book further in advance than other venues. This is something to ask when you are walking our venue because it can also be affected by the season or even the day of the week in which you want to book.

5. Regulations on decor.

Some venues have certain rules in place in regards to decor such as now allowing certain things to be affixed to the walls, doors, fixtures or ceilings. Ask about what is allowed at your walk through of the venue if you have specific decor ideas in mind that could cause damage to the venue. The representative may even be able to tell you how they have resolved the issue in the past.
