Traditions You Shouldn’t Feel Bad About Ditching

White Barn Wedding DFW

DFW White Barn Wedding

As time progresses, so do weddings! There are so many traditions that are becoming outdated and less important than they once were. If you’re trying to figure out which wedding traditions you shouldn’t feel bad about ditching at your DFW white barn wedding, read below!

  • Not seeing each other before the ceremony is a long-standing tradition tied to bad luck, but with the popularity of first looks, its going out of style. We still love the walk down the aisle being the first look just as much, but don’t be afraid to do a first-look before the ceremony! You will have beautiful pictures and intimate memories between the two of you.
  • It has always been tradition that your father walks you down the aisle, but what if you’re not close to him? Your father walking you down the aisle is becoming less of a standard as many choose to opt in their mother, aunt, or even their best friend. Let this position be more about who has stood by you and watched you grow into who you are than a tradition.
  • Your dress doesn’t have to be white anymore! While there used to be a lot of stigma attached to a different color of wedding dress, that just isn’t the case anymore. Don’t be afraid to pick out that blush dress!
  • Lastly, some people love the garter toss and bouquet throw, but some people don’t! Don’t feel bad if you don’t want to participate in either of these wedding traditions. After all, it is your wedding. If you’re not comfortable or you want to keep your bouquet, just do you!

Whatever your wedding looks like and whatever traditions you keep or ditch for your big day, we are so excited to see you get married in our beautiful barn! Contact us to talk about your upcoming wedding.
