Giving Back – Charity Wedding Ideas

Charity Wedding Ideas

Charity Wedding IdeasSo many people are struggling around us. Every day we see small businesses close, friends and family struggle with employment, and health challenges worldwide. Incorporating a cause that you care deeply about, can be an awesome way to showcase exactly who you are as a couple, and also give back to help others when they need it most.

Here are a few of our favorite ways to show your support while planning your wedding.

  1. Donate after your wedding. One option to donate after your big day is an organization called Brides for a Cause, who collects and resells wedding attire to support charity. If you’re the sentimental type and can’t imagine parting ways with the dress you walk down the aisle in, there are other ways to donate. Various organizations like, Random Acts of Flowers and Bouquets of Kindness have locations across the country that will accept your bouquets and centerpieces and repurpose them for patients in hospitals or senior living centers. Not only is this an excellent way to brighten someone’s day who may be less fortunate, but will also help you cut down on waste from your wedding.
  2. Rethink your registry. Your registry doesn’t have to be filled with the typical kitchen utensils and home goods. If you are fortunate enough to consider forgoing a standard registry, think about registering for a cause. There are platforms like The Good Beginning, Just Give and ZankYou who can all help you find an organization that’s meaningful to you and encourage others to give.
  3. Lastly, think about working with vendors and suppliers who are like-minded. From organizations like, Cards for a Cause – who donates 20% of their proceeds to more than 500 participating charities, to OneHope, a vineyard that donates a percentage of every sale to charity – there are ways to strategically plan your big day, while supporting causes that are close to your heart.
